Maybe David or Howard would be willing to make searchable versions
of the email archives of R6RS (editors), R6RS-discuss, and even the
old rnrs mailing lists available through scheme-punks. It would
certainly be handy for the various discussions.
I would like to suggest that ERR5RS include "top-level" as a
distinguished library name to allow a library to reference top-level
variables. It's also possible, if ERR5RS is less rigid than R6RS,
that identifiers not otherwise bound would default to top-level
variables. If top-level were explicitly specifiable, then it would
usually be desirable to limit the imports to a specific set.
